"I ordered these shoes 1/2 size up and the toe box was too narrow. Although they have a thick soul in the heel area, they are not overly padded in the ball of the foot. I would say these are more for fun than serious walking/running.They are good looking in a retro-way."

"The women's sizes ran small so I had to buy a man's size 10.5. They fit much better, but are a little wide (because they are men's). Other than that, they are great. I had some customer service issues, they will not pay for returning shoes that don't fit because they are sized wrong, and the customer service people are rude and uncaring. I will never buy sketchers again for that reason, but I do love these particular shoes. THe competition charges $300 for the same thing so I was stuck with these. It's a shame that the product is good, but the people are the problem!"

"I've worn this shoe to work and hiking daily. Excellent breathability and great fit. Good support and I like the Vibram soles. Very satisfied and I will get another pair soon. Only downside is inside heal lining has torn a little but it's not a problem I can feel on my foot. I've gotten extensive use from this shoe and some rough abuse. Great all around hiker. I just bought the Moab Ventilator GTX for the water repel and plan to get another pair of these ventillated option too. I have a wide foot and get size 13W and they are a perfect fit!!!!! Light weight!! Merrill is a fine fine product!!"

"Living in western New York, our winters range from powder snow to freezing rain, but most times a mix of both. Which makes trail hiking a tricky situation. Most of my friends use Yak Traks, but after searching for other traction devices and reading their reviews, I bought a pair of Kahtoola MICROspikes. And I'm so glad I did! I've hiked in several inches of powder, and a few days later on the same trails now a sheet of ice, and the traction has been perfect. My friends would slip and slide, but with my MICROspikes, it was like walking on dirt. They're so easy to pull on, and just as easy to take off. They do run large, and I'm glad I bought a small, even though I wear a women's size 8.5. The only problem I've experienced with them is if I hike on untracked wet snow - the snow clumps on the MICROspikes and I have to kick the snow off. But I think this would happen regardless of the type of traction device used. After my friends saw me tap dancing on a sheet of ice, they all bought MICROSPIKES!!"

"I don't know if the shoes do everything they say, but they certainly work your legs more than more conventional shoes. After an initial period of adjustment you can wear them anywhere all the time, or if you're like me you can wear them every other day to notice the difference they cause. Anyway, take the advertising with some salt; you won't get a six-pack just by wearing magical shoes, but you will develop your calves and ankles, and your lower lumbar muscles will get stronger from wearing them."
