The Air Jordan 19 (XIX) Original (OG) - Black / Chrome - Varsity Red were released on May 8, 2004, and retailed for $165. The feature an all black upper with red accents, and are constructed from materials including leather and patent leather. They were inspired by and modeled after the most dangerous snake on earth, the Black Mamba, and truly exemplify the level of greatness that only Michael himself could attain. They feature a phylon midsole with a double stack Air Sole Unit in the heel, combined with a full length zoom air bag, as well as a 3/4 length carbon fibre shank for added support. The outsole features a solid, modified version of the herringbone pattern, which provides great traction on the hardwood, as well as new flex groove details for added flexability. Other technical specifications include a patent leather toe box, tech-flex upper with velcro heel strap, plastic lace-locks, Jumpman on heel and midfoot.

"I am very happy with this shoe. I have big feet and I ordered the 11 wide and it has enough room in the toe box not to pinch my feet. The arch support hits my foot in the right spot. I tried Saucony first and the arch was in the wrong place. I was looking for a shoe with a lot of cushioning because I use it to walk a 3 mile loop on pavement. "Rifts Rock! I became addicted to Rifts a few years ago. They are incredibly comfortable and stylish. I am 43 and my "cool factor" goes up a few notches when I wear mine. I have a narrow foot and am able to wear these as they adjust in several places. If you have worn Nikes before, I recommend ordering your normal Nike size as they usually run short. I am happy to see Zappos carrying Nike now, especially the Rifts."
