The Air Jordan 5 (V) Retro - Fire Red (White / Fire Red - Black) was released in December 2006 and retailed for $135. They are a bit different from the Retro Fire Reds released in 2000, as they don't feature an all black midsole, but instead a combination of red and black, with a white toe, and a clear outsole. They also feature a 23 stitched into the heel of the shoe, as well as the Jumpman logo at the back.

"Wanted to like these, very cute, but very uncomfortable and had to return. The tongue part of the shoe that runs all the way up the foot kept pressing down on my foot, the material rubbing constantly. Could feel it even with thicker athletic socks on. Also, this shoe doesn't have a lot of cushioning for heavy aerobic workouts."

"I'VE HEARD THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE HAVING HIP AND KNEE PROBLEMS FROM WEARING SHAPE-UPS. I AM DISABLED AND I HAVE BAD KNEES AND A BAD BACK AND NERVE DAMAGE DOWN MY LEGS. "I had very old work-out shoes that needed to be replaced and as Zappos provides free shipping and free return shipping, chose them. Work-out shoes need to be worn around for a while and after about 12 pairs; I chose these and absolutely love them. They styling is quite nice and they are extremely comfortable. I highly recommend them! I have long, skinny feet and high arches so I did have to put arch supports in them, but most of my shoes require them."

"The shoes look great. Good support. They feel a little narrow and if your ankles are sensitive (is that even a thing?) the sides might rub a little, but otherwise pretty comfortable for bartending or jumping rope. One thing to note, the clear plastic swoosh gets all humid when you are in a cool room but your feet are hot. So be aware."

"I haven't worn a shoe this comfortable since the Vomero 2. I supinate slightly and have very high arches and narrow heels (but normal forefoot width). I have a terrible time finding shoes that do not aggravate my plantar faciitis or my knees and these do neither. They fit nice and snug through the arch and they are freakishly lightweight. I just hope Nike doesn't go and change them next year!"
