"After much research for the perfect walking show and a commentary on them from my sister who has worn them for years and totally swears by them, I decided this is the shoe for me to try. From the moment I put them on my foot, I knew I had made the right choice. It felt like I had worn them for years, great walking impact and absorbtion on the treadmill, just over-all comfortable. Based upon reviews I read on the product, I normally wear a 7 1/2 shoe and moved up to an 8...thank you...it worked out great. Worth the investment."

"Have owned these shoes over two years, and worn them as work shoes for the last six months, 8 hours a day on concrete. Wore them on a 9-day motorcycle trip to Grand Canyon/Las Vegas. They are probably the best shoes I have ever owned! Very airy, very stable on uneven terrain; dry out very quickly, do not absorb odors; and wear very well, with regard to durability. Only fault is the lining inside the heel has come unglued on one shoe, but got my dollars worth long ago! "Full disclosure: Im a big proponent of minimal footwear in running. The best shoe Ive found so far are Nike Frees, and Im sort of sitting on the fence in terms of the barefoot vs. shod running debate. I occasionally run barefoot on the treadmill, and bust out my Vibram Five Fingers outside. Im also a biomechanically efficient runner so Ive got more of a forefoot or midfoot strike than a heel strike, and I need flexibility in the forefoot of whatever shoe Im wearing.But as much as I like to stay away from clunky running shoes, I also like to run on terrain that is too sharp and jagged for bare feet or Vibrams, and where my Nike Frees pick up rock and gravel like no ones business. So I picked up the Fireblades because they seemed fairly minimalist for a trail running shoe.The construction seems good, the fit is fantastic. Unfortunately there is something about the sole of this shoe that drives me nuts. After just a little while running in them, I start to intermittently pinch a nerve in the sole of my left foot. I think for me, the sole is too flat, too hard, and too inflexible, and my weight ends up getting distributed in a much smaller area than when I wear flexible shoes or no shoes at all. Theyre just not working out... there has to be some trail shoe out there that will protect my feet from rocks and scree without hurting them."

"Traded some leaky SLazengers I had just bought for these (see my review for those SV-3s). I thought the SV-3s felt a bit more comfortable and stylishing, but not much. Also, as I wear them more and they break in, the comfort level has gone up too. So these are very comfortable and look great, but they are DRY in wet weather... the big difference! It's also my early opinion, but they should be more durable and wear longer too. I'm glad Dick's let me trade my SV-3s for these."
